A lovely photo session by the coast

 A clear and calm night by the ocean. Photogenic Aurora in the north and fluorescent sea weed and lichen on stones. Planet Jupiter rising below Castor and Pollux, green airglow visible too and a nice starry sky.

Going through photos and it is a lot of years now, from 1999 when I started my astrophotography. Found this old photo from 2008 of a lovely windmill by the sea of the island of Öland in the area of S:t Olofsholm. And what a night sky!

Craterellus tubaeformis & Cassiopeia

Craterellus tubaeformis, very tasty but tonight just a closer photo of it during moonrise and in the sky you can see the constellation of Cassiopeia. One of the key roles that fungi play in our ecosystem is breaking down organic matter, keeping it moving through the carbon cycle. Moon passing in front the sun

Earlier this year the moon passed in front of the sun and a partial solar eclipse occured. This was the view through the telescope, a closer look at the moons limb and the sun in Ha and an active area at the sun is visible.

A view from planet Earth

Small Fungus standing and almost looks like stargazing under the night sky. Fungi break down dead organic matter like cellulose and lignin, returning vital nutrients to the soil. Without them, the world would be buried under organic debris. Fungi are major players in the carbon cycle, storing carbon in the soil and helping to regulate the climate. Some fungi have the ability to digest pollutants, helping to clean up the environment. Beautiful planet!

Amazing view of our galaxy from one of the island of Seychelles. So bright in the sky, like a white cloud.
