Comet Lemmon through binoculars




Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) is making its closest approach to Earth, only 0.6 AU away. The comet is about as bright as a 4th magnitude star, making it a borderline naked-eye object that looks terrific through small telescopes. The view through binoculars was great!

Strong Aurora Borealis with a rare SAR ARC (and comet Lemmon)

 Me and my son went for a drive to darker skies to see comet Lemmon a little bit better. But when we arrived a big green bow was visible. We went very fast to put up the gear and photograph and the show just went on. Dring the session we noticed a bow in the south, we thought that it was aurora too but it was actually Surprise: Some Red Auroras are *not* Auroras | Spaceweather.com

A lovely session with comet Lemmon visible too but much more faint because of the Aurora.
