Red Aurora in moonlight

 My sons friend calls and tell me there is a Aurora show outside. It started with some green colors and the bow in the north. Later on the activity gets stronger. From the bow pillars starts to move and getting higher in the sky with some colors. Getting back home and looked from my backyard I witnessed one of the strongest red colors I´ve seen, dark red easily seen despite moonlight! 

Conjunction between Moon, Venus and Mercury

A beautiful sight after sunset tonight. It took a little while for me to find Mercury but Venus - wow how bright!

More Noctilucent clouds

My son noticed some nice Noctilcent clouds from his bedroom so we took a ride to the lake of Vallentuna and checked it out.

Intense display of Northern lights

What a strong display of Aurora Borealis that occured around 01.00 local time tonight! Despite moonlight and citylight the colors and pillars with movement all the way up in zenith was amazing!! So beautiful! Only 30km north of Stockholm..

Comet Catalina with moon and Venus

Like a celestial triangle the crescent moon with earthshine, planet Venus and the little green dot comet Catalina showed up early this morning. I went out 04.40 local time to witness this but I couldnt see the comet, it is around magntitude 6 at the moment, I didnt try with binoculars either, which is possible to see it. Well, anyway, a nice way to start the day..

Magic light again

Got a textmessage from my friend Uffe in Luleå http://www.juo.se/ that he had great Aurora in the south (!), just finished a film with my daughter and went out and saw this a short while before the clouds arrived..rather nice to be as south as Vallentuna.

A nice Aurrora display in moonlight.

A very nice display of Northern lights in Vallentuna last night. Just went a couple of km from the house to get a clear low north the view was like this. Colors easily visible and the dancing Aurora too..

Partial Solareclipse

I didn´t think Iwas able to see the partial solareclipse because of clouds but the sun made it through and the clouds worked as filter and I could see the solareclipse without filter and optics - really great!

Amazing Aurora in Stockholm City

Standing in the middle of Stockholm City and capture nice Aurora Borealis is not every night. Heavy lightpollution destroyed much of the show but it was a nice display. Later efter midnight when I arrived home in Vallentuna I enjoyed one of the finest displays I´ve seen so far south, the corona photo show my backyard - amazing!

Despite heavy moonlight from the Wolfmoon I could enjoy Northern lights as far south as Vallentuna Stockholm...again.

Another night with Aurora

Another night in Vallentuna with Aurora Borealis and this time also some Nacreous clouds. And earlier I enjoyed the thin crescent moon with earthshine, a great session the night before Christmas.

Ett svagt men synligt norrsken igår kväll så långt söderut som Vallentuna.

Fain Northern lights in Vallentuna last night.

First really good NLC

First really good Noctilucent clouds display this season so far. It started really slow with just some bright parts low in the sky, later on after midnight it started to grow really fast and ended up with bright and beautiful formations. Photos taken with a Canon 6D, Canon 66D and different focallenghts. (And as usual Blogger edits the photos with sharpness, contrast and light - not good at all!)

Bye bye starry nightsky

Bye bye starry night sky! Probably the last starry nightsky photo before bright summer nights. I was also lucky with some faint Aurora Borealis, even in may - nice! This shot is taken close to my house in Vallentuna, it was a rare clear night with a nice nightsky, this is close to Stockholm, only 30km north. 

Hej då natthimmel för denna gång, nu väntar ljusa nätter och det jag väntar på nu är Nattlysande moln säsongen som brukar dyka upp i mitten av Juni. Det var en ovanligt fin himmel för att vara Vallentuna denna natt, kallt och klart och relativt mörkt i NO där Vintergatans band i Svanen låg. För att vara i maj endast 30km från Stockholm så var det rätt fint. Svagt norrsken också, kul att se i maj månad, nu är det bara juni och juli som jag inte sett norrsken.
